People have been celebrating important life events for centuries. Weddings, birthdays, baby showers, meetings, and conventions all have one thing in common: people. This makes the event planning industry a living, breathing organism. This industry is young, and ever evolving, but I’ve attempted to make a few predictions in two popular event categories that I’m sure you will find helpful.

The events that can break the boundaries between host and attendee will find success in 2015.
If you haven’t heard, wedding season is upon us. While 2014 saw a backlash against technology being a part of weddings, I think the opposite can be said for weddings in 2015. While most of us are familiar with apps like Pinterest that make wedding planning seem like a breeze the apps of choice this year will actually be used by wedding guests. Two such apps allow the day to be recorded from the aspect of the guests.
- Vyclone: allows you to take the videos that your guest records and mash them into one video.
- Wedding Party: allows the couple to see photos taken by their guests and upload them to wedding.com.
I’ve only covered two areas of the event planning industry, but I can say with confidence that technology will be a catalyst for change in all aspects of this amazing industry. Comment below and tell me how you are using technology to help you plan your next event.
