In case you missed it, there are two HUGE events happening this weekend: The Kentucky Derby and the Mayweather v. Pacquiao boxing match. Since tickets to these events are limited, and can be pricey, many people opt to watch from the comfort of their own home. For those of you hosting a viewing party, here are 3 tips to ensure everyone has a good time.

#1. Get the party started a little early. Have your guests come over at least an hour before the event begins airing. This will give everyone time to meet each other, grab some refreshments, and get settled.

#2. Create a separate place for refreshments. Not everyone in attendance will be a boxing or racing fan. Having your refreshments set up away from the action allows those who want to munch and mingle to chance to do so without disturbing those who are watching the main event.

#3. Keep things light and simple. Have the food set up and the television on when your guests arrive. This will set the atmosphere, and let everyone know the goal is to have fun. Greet your guests at the door, then let them decide what they would finger food set uplike to do. Your refreshments should be simple finger foods that your guests can eat while standing. Make sure you have enough food and drinks to refresh your table at least twice. Nothing kills a party like an empty chip bowl.
